Backing up your data

An error can occur whenever changes are made to the data. To be able to restore previous data, you can use Assetti's backup feature. This feature is available to users with unlimited access and it allows you to back up data, restore a backup, and compare different versions of your data.

We recommend that you use a backup before making major changes in your data, such as importing files.

How to back up your data

  1. Select Backups from user drop down menu on top right corner;
  2. Fill in File name which will help you recognise the backed up data easily. Assetti automatically adds the date and time of the backup;
  3. Click Backup button to save.

How to restore your backed up data

  1. Select Backups from user drop down menu on top right corner;
  2. All your backed up files are listed in the table in Backups view. Select the data you wish to restore by clicking Restore button on its row;
  3. Select Yes from pop-up message to confirm.

Please note:

  • Once a backed up file is restored, all changes made in your data after the file was backed up will no longer be included.
  • Previous backups are hidden when a major product release is made. Contact Support if you need the data from those backups.

How to compare different data versions

  1. Select Backups from user drop down menu on top right corner;
  2. Choose the data files you wish to compare by checking their boxes;
  3. Select:
    • Compare with current to compare one file with your current data set; OR
    • Compare with each other to compare two backup files.
